Mechanical & Inspection

Established to cater for mechanical and inspection trainings and consultancy services to meet learners’ requirements and expectations.

The three sections: Rotating Equipment, Static Equipment, and Fabrication & Inspection, focus on the development and delivery of long-term and short-term training programmes.

Programme Management Section manages programmes under the categories of Civil, Structural & Pipeline Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Corrosion & Inspection (MCI) Engineering, Project Management and Steam Boiler & Internal Combustion Engineer Training & Assessment (PESITAS).

Mechanical & Inspection

Scaffolding Appreciation (Tubular Tube)

This programme provides participants with a working knowledge on scaffolding types and terminology. In addition, participants will acquire basic skills on erection, dismantling, and inspection of tubular tubes scaffolding correctly and safely.

This programme provides participants with knowledge on condition monitoring as well as maintenance practices, reporting and managing programmes of rotating equipment to comply with oil & gas, marine, power plant and other industries.

Fabrication & Inspection Section

Fabrication & Inspection Section is equipped with several hands-on training facilities such as Machining Shop, Workshop Practice, Precision Measuring Tools, Fitting & Sheet Metal, Welding & Cutting, Non-Destructive Testing, Mechanical Testing, Hydraulic & Pneumatic, and AutoCAD Lab.

Static Equipment Section

Static Equipment Section is equipped with several hands-on training facilities such as Flange Management Facility, Valves & Safety Valves, Heat Exchangers, Slinging & Rigging, Scaffolding, Pipe & Fittings and Steam Traps.

Rotating Equipment Section

Rotating Equipment Section is equipped with several hands-on training facilities such as Vibration Lab (Analyser CSI 2140 and Rotor Balancing Kit) , Bearing Lab (various types of plain and rolling element bearings, cold & hot mounting tools), Alignment Lab (Alignment Jig, DTI & Laser Alignment), Pump Skids, Gas Compression Training Facility (GCTF), Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Pumps, Compressors, Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Mechanical Seals and Condition Based Monitoring (CBM tools, Thermographic Camera & Borescope).

Rotating Equipment Section also offers Vibration Analyst Training & Certification (ISO 18436 Category I – IV) in collaboration with Mobius Institute Australia.
