Electrical

The Electrical Academy offers comprehensive learning solutions in the areas of Electrical Engineering that can be specifically tailored to clients’ needs. As a Centre of Competency Development and Certification, we are committed to deliver the best training experience to our clients.

Our academy is well-equipped with up-to-date equipment specialising in oil and gas industries to simulate real-life working situations.

We offer a wide range of electrical training programmes, from fundamental principles of electrical engineering to high-level programmes which focus on operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.

In collaboration with renowned certifying bodies, we also offer competency and certification-based courses, such as competency of personnel working in hazardous area and Chargeman certification, certified by IECEx and Energy Commission, respectively.

In 2016, we have been conferred by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as a Recognised Training Provider (RTP) for IECEx approved programmes. We are the first among the users and also the first training institution in Malaysia to obtain the RTP status.

This programme provides participants with essential knowledge on basic principles of equipment protection in explosive atmosphere. It also covers the basic selection, installation and maintenance of explosion-protected equipment in accordance with IEC 60079 Standards.

It covers the requirements as stipulated in IEC 60079 Standards and aims to serve as a preparatory training for international assessment in accordance with IECEx Certification of Personnel Competencies (CoPC).

Ex Equipment Wiring Bay

Our Ex Equipment Wiring Bay is fitted with real industrial equipment which comprises Control System (DCS) to field equipment, to replicate the real-life experience of working in hazardous area.

Certified by IECEx as one of the Recognised Training Provider (RTP), the Wiring Bay is specially utilised in delivering competency-based and upskilling programmes, such as Unit Ex 001, 003, 007, and 008.

High Voltage (HV) Facilities

Our High Voltage (HV) Training Facilities comprise equipment with operating voltage up to 33 kV, related to generation, distribution and switching facilities. These facilities are specifically designed to simulate actual power network management in large industries.

Certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga as one of the Accredited Training and Examination Centre, our HV Training Facilities are widely used for competency-based and skill programmes, such as Chargeman Certification and Engineer Upskilling Programmes.
